Wanda Vision
If you are a Marvel fan and haven’t watched Marvel’s new Disney+ show, WandaVision, then you are 100% missing out. On January 15th, Marvel launched the first two episodes of their new show that feature the two beloved Avengers: Wanda and Vision.
Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch in the Comics, was first introduced to the MCU in Age of Ultron and has since become one of the most powerful Avengers. From what we know, her powers came from Hydra’s experimentation with the Mind Stone. Episode 8 does, however, dive further into the source of Wanda’s powers and where they originated from.
We also first see Vision in Age of Ultron. Vision is a synthezoid and was Jarbus until he got put into the body meant for Ultron. His power centers from the mind stone that is located in his forehead and is what gives him human-like qualities. Leading up to Wanda Vision, at the beginning of Infinity War we see that Wanda and Vision had been coupled up and on their own for the 2 years post-civil war.
WandaVision begins with the couple living idealized suburban lives when they start to suspect that everything is not always the way it seems. Each episode takes the couple into a new decade in their small town in New Jersey. Throughout the episodes, everything becomes a little bit more clear but also more confusing at the same time.
In order to avoid spoilers, I won’t say too much about the plot because almost anything I say will be a spoiler. But this show is definitely worth the watch, whether you are a resident Marvel fan or not. The final installment comes out on March 5th, making the total 9 episodes that each last around 30 minutes. This is one of the best-crafted television show’s I’ve ever watched in my life and the show took the spot as the World’s number one series worldwide. I will say that it takes till episode 3 or 4 to start understanding what is going on because it’s confusing in the beginning but it’s worth it.
March 19th is the Premier of Marvel’s next miniseries called Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and it follows Sam and Bucky as they try to preserve the legacy of Captain America. Marvel will be releasing something new every week for all of 2021, so get excited.
If you haven’t watched yet, STOP READING SPOILERS AHEAD:
Currently as I write this I am, like everyone else waiting for the finale, and Marvel has definitely got me. I have loved watching all the easter egg videos after each episode and seeing fan theories on Tik Tok. I did theorize that Agnes was Agatha Harkness, so I did give myself a little pat on the back for that. I don’t think that Agatha is the main villain; I think she’s curious about Wanda’s magic and maybe wants to benefit from it. But it doesn’t really make sense for her to be the main villain if the villain is being set up to appear in multiple upcoming movies, which is what I think. I think that these events will directly lead to Spiderman and Dr. Strange because I’m pretty sure both have to do with the multiverse. As we know, Wanda is a Nexus being so she is the same across all aspects of reality. I heard a theory the other day about Dotty being a witch as well because of the shot in episode 7 of her with yellow flowers and both Wanda and Agatha have flowers in front of their houses that are the same color as their powers. I am very excited to see Monica as Photon and hopefully Billy and Tommy being part of the Young Avengers, but we’ll see.
