2 Weeks ago I had the opportunity to go on my Temple's confirmation trip to New York. We got to explore the city and connect to our Jewish identity. Let’s BeReal about every day of my trip.

Day one! Our travel day. It started off a little rough with Southwest canceling our flight so Denver to Wichita to Saint Louis to New York it was. We did lots of sleeping, ate some bagels, played some cards, finally drove to our hotel, and ended the night with some New York pizza.

Day 1

Day two started bright and early waking up in the city. We had New York bagels for breakfast and walked around Rockefeller Plaza and to the Top of The Rock. We got pastrami sandwiches at Katz Deli and ate many pickles. We toured the historic Tenement museum and stopped for some candy at Economy candy. We had Asian food for dinner at the Mala Project and saw & Juliet on Broadway. We finished the day by walking through Times Square and getting ice cream.

Day 2
Day 2

On day three we went to a diner for breakfast and sightseeing at the MET. We took the subway to Grand Central Station and got lunch. We had some downtime for Shabbat and walked to Central Synagogue for Shabbat services. It was really cool to see how even though our congregation is miles away we were able to connect. We were welcomed in by this community and had a wonderful service. Next, for dinner, we walked to Rosa Mexicano and then headed for bed.

Day 3

Day four our last full day was filled with lots of walking. We had some time for reflection in Central Park along with sightseeing along 5th avenue. We had some free time when we visited a friend from CLTC, we ate Italian, and did some shopping. Then, we ate dinner at Chelsea Market, visited all the vendors, and saw a friend from summer camp. Our night ended with INTER: An interactive art journey to explore your true nature and reality in Soho and a subway ride back to our hotel.

Day 4

Day five was our final day. We had challah french toast for breakfast, did a scavenger hunt around the city, and made a pit stop at the infamous M&M store. We went down to Williamsburg Brooklynn for more shopping and food. We finally got to the airport and made our journey home.

Day 5

Overall the five days I spent in New York were amazing. I got to eat some wonderful food, especially New York bagels, got to visit with friends, and experience Shabbat in a different way.  I also loved getting closer to BBG’s and Alephs who go to my temple
